The course is dedicated to the study of three philosophical perspectives that have been foundational for contemporary theoretical discourse on art: critical theory, hermeneutics and phenomenology. Readings include texts by Adorno and Lukacs, Heidegger and Gadamer, Merleau-Ponty and Irigaray.
