Course description

  Arabic Grammar and Its Affiliations with Hebrew   
The aim of the course is to present a review of the phonological and morphological characteristics of literary Arabic based on comparison with Hebrew. It manifests Arabic's profound contribution to the historic research of the Hebrew Language. During the course the students are acquainted with Arabic graphemes and orthography – e.g. the consonants and the vowels, the structure of the syllable, the intonation; Arabic morphology of the verb and the noun; and grammatical categories such as number, gender, person tense, define articles etc
