Course description
The course deals with the main issues current in the research of Israeli society. Students will be exposed to a panoramic view of the diverse groups, gaps and issues dividing Israeli society. Lectures will be given by four of the department's faculty, in four modules, with each devoted to a different issue. Among the topics to be discussed: gender; Arab-Jewish relations; religiosity versus secularism; the political left and right; social structure and the labor market; immigration and citizenship and struggles over redistribution and recognition.
