Course description
The course is a fast paced journey through the main junctions of Western art music in the second half of the 18th century leading up to the beginning of the 20th century, from C.P.E, Bach to Mahler. The goal of the course is to present the central ideas and aesthetic notions governing the music of this period coupled with an analysis of exemplary musical works. One class per month will be devoted to world music.
