Course description
This course deals with core theories, methodologies and studies in the geographical discipline. The first part of the course is concentrated on the development of the main research approaches: regional geography, logical positivism, humanistic and structural geography, and contemporary approach such as realism and structuration realism. In addition, the distinction between quantitative and qualitative methods will be discussed with respect to different domains in geography. In the second part, empiric researches of different methodological approaches will be presented and discussed.
