Dr. Baruch Ziv
The course deals with inter-relations between meteorology and technology. It is composed f two parts.
a. Nowadays meteorological techniques and their utilization for scientific and general public needs:
· Weather forecasting – methods and strategy, advantages and weaknesses
· Synoptic classification – methodologies and applications for environmental planning and climatological studies
· Meteorological satellites – principles and identification cloud types and patterns
b. How major fields of life are influenced by atmospheric conditions
· Aviation – principles and physical effects of weather phenomena on plains and pilots
· Air Pollution – the influence of the atmospheric condition on air quality
· Agro-meteorology – the atmospheric conditions needed for optimal growth of vegetation and live
The discussions involve descriptive physics, chemistry and biology
Prerequisite: Introduction to climate
The student duties contain presence in 100% of the lessons and having 60 score in the final exam
