Course description
Objective
• Introducing to methodological approaches in regional climatology of Israel
• Studying the climatic regime of Israel: radiation, temperature, humidity, precipitation and wind regimes
• Studying the seasonal weather systems, their relations with large-scale circulations and their impact on the local weather conditions and the climatic regime
• Analyzing typical and extreme weather events and their climatic and environmental impact

The location of the Meidterranean Basin within the global circulation systems
Basic factors in Israel climate: global, regional and local scales
The climate regions of Israel - different approaches

The climatic regime of Israel: radiation, temperature, rainfall, evaporation, humidity and wind
Typical synoptic systems and their impact on the climatic regime
Extreme weather events and their environmental implications.
