Course description
This MA seminar focuses on pertinent changes that occurred in Biblical exegesis during the Renascence period, among them the introduction of political and historical critical thinking into the reading and wider exegesis of the biblical text, especially by Jewish commentators such as Abravanel. We will also look into the artistic and other expressions such as humanism and individualism which underlie the new developments in biblical exegesis during this period, including in the work of contemporary Christian exegetes.
