The workshop “In the Company of Poets” will comprise three interlocking components: reading ancient to contemporary poetry, practice, and reading the texts of the participants. Both the reading and the practice will focus on fundamental questions, such as time and space in a poem, syntax as the dwelling place of the Muse, relations between form and knowledge, and the seductions and dangers of "the lyrical I."
Presence in class is mandatory. Absence from more than three classes will result in cancellation of the course.
Workshop requirements are writing weekly assignments and active participation.
