The seminar will focus on the possible encounters between medieval Hebrew poetry and contemporary literary theory. Reading assignments will include key scholarly work regarding such encounters in Hebrew and English medieval literature, as well as the poems themselves which will prove to be no less theoretically oriented than their critics.
