Paul Celan's ceremonial speech Der Meridian is one of the Grundtexte of the poetical thinking in the second half of the 20th century, attesting the path of the poem and the dialogue of Celan with the European poetical tradition (Lenz, Hoelderlin, Buechner, Kafka, Mallarme) and theory (Adorno, Benjamin, Heidegger), creating the great lines of his own poem.
