Course description

Continental philosophy nowadays is occupied more than ever with the question of the Event. The course will introduce several theoretical perspectives on this fervent subject. Two special effects will be examined closely: the event as a producer of competing narratives, and the eruption of an enigma. The events that we will discuss are divine intervention, helping a total stranger, an accident, a political assassination and an encounter with a fantastic being.
