Course description

In this course we examine the various ways in which medieval narrators and preachers dealt with contemporary perceptions of body, sexuality and gender. By reading folk narratives and midrashim we will try to understand the ways in which "classical", deformed", "male", "female", "gentile", "Jewish" and other bodies were presented.
