The course will focus upon the construction technologies, materials, tools and machinery used in classical Palestine. The archaeologically based discussion will involve excerpts from the classical as well as the rabbinical literature. Discussed themes will be: Wall painting, mosaics, metal production, stone and wood industry, water technology and the like.
