Course description

The course will be devoted to the study of martial architecture in the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine world. A focus will be given to the typology of fortifications: walls, towers, gates and their components of the urban space, alongside military architecture and spaces, such as camps, marching camps and fortifications, such as Hadrian Wall.
