Course description

Many Hebrew inscriptions were discovered in Archaeological excavations conducted in Israel and its neighboring countries. These inscriptions have great importance for the understanding of the history of the Biblical period, as well as its culture, religions, society and many different other aspects. During the course we will learn many of these ancient Hebrew inscriptions, and the way scholars deciphering them, understand their different aspects and combine them in the general historical picture of the Biblical period. The purpose of this course is to give the students methodological tools and basic understanding for further study and research of the Biblical period.
