Introduction to the archaeology of ancient Israel from the Neolithic to the Iron Age: A systematic review of the archaeological record from the ninth to the first millennia BCE: material culture, settlement pattern, social, economic and political structures of ancient societies. The first part of the course will focus mainly on the Bronze Age (3rd-2nd millennia BCE) and the second part – on the Iron Age, i.e., the period during which Israel and neighboring nations emerged as polities.
