The stories of the Hebrew Bible are being read by many, both traditionally and academically. But many Israeli readers meet the Bible for the first time in adaptations for children, in books, graphic novels and other media. This is a de facto Midrash or rewritten Bible. In this course we will read some of these versions and consider the various rewriting strategies of making the Bible fit for kids in the eyes of its adapters.
