Course description
Selected Topics in the Writings of the Medieval Arab grammarians
Several topics will be discussed in this seminar, such as al-ḥāl, al‑tamyīz, al-mafʿūl lahu and others. We will read excerpts from the writings of Sībawayhi, Ibn Jinnī, Ibn al‑ʾAnbārī, al-Zamaxšarī, Ibn Yaʿīš and others.
