Phonetics

The course is an introduction to articulatory phonetics and acoustic phonetics.
In the domain of articulatory phonetics, the principles for the categorization of sounds in the world's languages according to features will be discussed and phonetic transcription according to the IPA will be taught. In the field of acoustic phonetics, the various acoustic characteristics of different sounds will be presented, and the acoustic analysis of sounds will be taught.
The theoretical studies will be accompanied by practical exercise in transcription.
Prerequisites: None.
Course requirements: Attendance of lectures, 6-8 assignments, transcription exam, final exam.
