Course description
The seminar deals the nature of faith and with different types of believers. It focuses on those who view faith as a propositional attitude, which can be true or false, rational or irrational, and on fideist believers, for whom faith cannot be justified by rational means but is, rather, an emotional, moral or ritualistic commitment, which, is either non-rational or absurd.

The purpose of the seminar is to sharpen up the student's writing capabilities. It, therefore, consists mostly of one-on-one tutorials in the course of which the students will have to submit a research proposal, and two drafts of their final paper. There will be two group meetings too. The first group meeting will take place during the first week of term; the second toward the end of the term. During the first meeting, the seminar questions and bibliography will be introduced. The second meeting will consist of a group discussion, in the course of which the students will present the preliminary results of their research.
