Course description
In the post-positivist philosophical era, Critical Rationalism suggests dialogue as the means for inquiry and development of ideas, reflecting one's philosophical identity. This view has been under attack on the one hand, from the conservative corner, that views the preservation of communal tradition as the main resource for the practice the good life, and on the other hand, by those who doubt the possibility of open rational dialogue, suggesting dialogue is given only within social spheres, power relationships and narrative. We shall be reading selected articles of central thinkers, and discuss the feasibility of rational dialogue and its enabling conditions. The seminar will serve as a social lab to investigate the various lifestyles implicated by the different views discussed. Most importantly, we shall search for the characteristics of various dialogic lifestyles.

The seminar will operate as a workshop, to allow participants to raise and explore their personal views and everyday lifestyles.
