Course description
The course will be devoted to investigating the relation between beauty, truth and morality in several central texts that open the field of contemporary debates in aesthetics: Kant's Critique of Judgment, Hegel's Lectures on Aesthetics, Heidegger's "Origin of the Work of Art" and Benjamin's "The Work of Art in the Age of its Technological Reproducibility".
The students registered for the course are required to take the section in which the texts of the philosophers we shall discuss will be read.The final grade will be calculated in terms of the grade for the section assignments (40%) as well that of the final in class exam for the course (60%).
