Course description
Immanuel Kant (1784-1804) is probably the greatest philosopher of modern times. His contribution to philosophy is notable in all areas of philosophy: epistemology, metaphysics, ethics and aesthetics. Kant's philosophical activity is usually divided into two periods: the pre-critical period and the critical period. His main writings from the critical period include the Critique of Pure Reason, the Critique of practical Reason, and the Critique of Judgment. This course provides an introduction to his philosophy. In it we will examine Kant's intellectual development and the main ideas related to the critical theory that was presented in his critical writings. Particular attention will be given to the systematic connections between the philosophical topics Kant discusses.
