Sources and Studies in Child Culture
This course offers readings of essential essays and studies by scholars of culture research, historians, sociologists and anthropologists dealing with the history of childhood, youth, parenthood and family in western society. Special attention is given to the development of concepts of childhood, youth, adulthood and family in modern society and the relationships between them. The reading selections are accompanied by a variety of primary sources, especially newspaper articles and literary texts.
