We will examine gender differences in access and uses of new media and digital technologies, and the means of self-presentation which these media enable. We will start with understanding of the gendered context of risks and opportunities of the Internet. We will continue into the different contexts for examining questions regarding gender and identity: The current media culture and related phenomena (such as Sexualization, Objectification, Pornographication). We will also get to know some peer-group dynamics – an important context of youth culture.
