How do people build their perception of the world out of the conglomeration of physical energy impinging on the sense organs? The abstraction of sensation is governed by general rules common to all sensory systems and by particular rules pertaining to each individual system. The objective of this course is to introduce the various sets of processing principles by way of gaining a fundamental understanding of human sensation and perception.
