Course description

The course will focus on the socioeconomic inequality in Israel, and combine between theoretical studies and practical training. The theoretical part of the course will review theories and research relating to key topics in the study of socioeconomic inequality in Israel. The course will enable students to gain a better understanding of different aspects of applied research into inequality. The course will deal mainly with the use of quantitative research methods in the measurement of inequality in a variety of social areas. The practical part of the course will enable students to choose between two channels of training: research-public channel in cooperation with civil society organizations, or instructional-explanatory channel in cooperation with high schools and young centers. These projects will offer students a unique opportunity to work with professional organizations engaged in education and reduction of deep inequality in Israel, and to act and influence in the field.
