Course description
The class on Government, Law and Constitutionalism: Challenges in Modern Democracies addresses the interface between the political and the legal systems, and examines the evolution of political institutions and political practices in modern democracies. We will examine these questions also with respect to the issue of constitutionalism. Employing a comparative perspective, the learning process in this class will benefit from examples from the United States, Europe and Israel. This class fits particularly well those students interested in further establishing their understanding of political institutions in a comparative framework. The only assignment in the class is a single class presentation. The final project is limited to 30 pages.
