Course description

Designing for sustainability is adapting the building for change in general and climatic changes in particular in accordance to to the comfort conditions of its users. The course will dwell on the bioclimatic parameters and will present a methodology of integrating sustainability considerations in the design process – from strategies to solutions. Green building codes have been formulated as guidelines and benchmarks  and those will be addressed in the course. In an attempt to  reduce energy consumption in buildings there the trend towards zero-energy design will be presented. The course will also address the principle of future-oriented design in the light of climate changes.
