Course description

The course follows "Urban Design – Theory and Praxis 1". The students will experience urban design by using the tools they had explored during the first semester. The students' assignment will be the preparation of an urban design scheme. Parallel to the design work, there will be lectures and discussions dealing with the various issues that form the complex tissue of urbanism. Lecture subjects: "Mavat" Amendment, creating a program for a new neighborhood,  planning with the use of scenarios, preservation: cosmology, politics, plans and implementation, the reform in the planning and construction law .

 

Most of the work is done in teams.  Students are encouraged to make use of the knowledge acquired during the courses "Urban Design – Theory and Praxis 1"  and  Studio projects. There will be 3 presentations. The final proposals will be presented as a simulation of decision making in the urban design and planning process..

 

The course is designated for forth year students of Architecture.
