Course description

Course Description:

Study, exploration and design of an urban section in Tel-Aviv, from a regional to building scale, as a proposal for modernization and a reaction to urban crowding.

Course requirements:

Mandatory attendance, participation in class-wide, team and personal projects, midterm and final submission and presentation (x2).

Final grade components:

Participation and presence in the process (30%), midterm submissions (30%) final presentation (40%).

Course Themes:

Urban planning and design in Tel-Aviv Yafo, in a physical, historical, cultural and social context. Taking in to account crowding, mixed-usage and development on a structural-level scale (district, block, lot, structure, usage) and studying urban syntaxes and public spaces (avenue, street, alley, court, square etc.).

Site selection, full process scheduling, presentation and submission dates etc. given at semester start.
