Course description

Residential building  in urban environment - Living in a community.

We will deal with the interpretation and planning of a residential building with an emphasis on community living. . The selected target audience is part of the local society, and has the unique characteristics of a lifestyle, culture, interests and sharing. From that exceed many questions about the nature of everyday life, the relationship between the private and the public, and the dwellings in the 21st century

Understanding the program reflect residence where there exists a specific lifestyle. Details of housing units and their organization along with  the cluster of apartments creates a place for the community, and raises questions about modes of cooperation in the modern era.

 

The project will be located in an urban environment which is characterized by unique construction, types of population, and a ratio between residential, commercial, and green area. The discussion will focus on a residential building as a part of the city. Part of contemporary social urban reality, and architecture design as part of renewal and change in the city.

 

Emphasis will be placed on a didactic structured process that shows the architecture as a creative process that combines concepts with functions. Studio work is a process of converting an abstract idea into architectural space and material expression, form, color, light, and rhythm..

Progressing in planning emphasizes the main idea, with materials and structural expression, in different scales. Emphasis will be placed on developing technical graphical capabilities.
