The course objective is to lay out the foundations of visual communication and to develop the professional skills of visual expression; The ability to convey messages and visual information using shape, color, text and image. We will examine the significance of the image - cognitively, symbolically, culturally and ideologically - while exploring the relations between text and image and developing a communicative visual concept.
During the course, the students will also explore the foundations of typography and experiment how typographic decisions, such as typeface, size, spaces and layout, can differentiate a specific content while giving it a unique interpretation.
