In this course, we will work on costume design for the Phantom Lady, play by Pedro Calderon, a period play from the Spanish Golden Age. We will study and explore the relevant period, stylistic elements of this period, fabrics, materials, colors, and the visual values, that typical to Spanish Renaissance. We will prepare period costume designs for period play, using practical tools such as silhouette, shape, proportion, colors, which we will find in research of this historical period.

At the same time we will analyze the characters, we will study the principles of costume design for the stage in general, and for the current play in particular, with reference to the characters, status, qualities, condition, moods, and garments style of the characters in the play.
