Course description

This graduate seminar will deal with ways that other disciplines have dealt with moving images. In the first part of the seminar will look at examples of works that raise questions about cinema, television, and new media and other fields of research such as philosophy, history, visual culture, and research on the body and affect. The reading material in the second part of the seminar will be chosen by the students and instructor from academic journals and books in screen studies or from works in other disciplines that might be relevant to the study of moving images and that could serve the graduate students in their research.
