A step by step introduction to the basic film techniques and the connection between them and building meaning: discussion on the structure of the picture, composition, presentation, screening, framing, color, motion, film space, the structure of the shot, editing, film time and correlation between the picture and sound, conversation and music, and among the components of the sound themselves. The course includes a viewing of a full length movie, a lecture and an exercise.
