Course description

"Cinematography and editing fundamentals" is a course about visual thinking.

The course will explore and decipher different styles of cinematography and editing through the close examination of scenes from films of known artists, both from Israel and abroad. The course will also discuss how to develop a visual language by using the tools that define the cinematic syntax.

Throughout it, the course will host a variety of directors, editors and cinematographers from the Israeli film industry, who will explore scenes from their films, discuss the way they make certain stylistic choices and share with the students their methods regarding cinematography and editing.

The aim of the course is to expand the students' visual skills and knowledge that will serve them when they face the task of translating a script to screen.
