The course centres on the relationship between music and philosophy as it is expressed in both musicological and philosophical writings. Our purpose is to deepen our understanding of music and the ways in which we conceive of listening, as well as explore modes of writing and thinking about music.  

It is important to note that out vantage point will be musicological rather than philosophical and that he course will be organizes thematically. It will not be a chronological course in the philosophy of music.
