The course is intended for Composition and Conducting students.

The course combines the analytical discipline with few compositional exercises assigned to the students. During the course a wide array of works from different times and styles is studied and analyzed in class. The level of theoretical knowledge required in this course is high and it puts some emphasis (event though not exclusively) on music close to our days. Students are assigned compositional exercises which are presented and discussed in the class.
