The aim of the course is to shape and develop advanced conducting skills of orchestral conducting graduate students. The course is designed for advanced conducting students, who have completed their basic training in conducting and studied advance classes in harmony, counterpoint, ear-training and analysis. The course is held in small groups (up to 4 students) yet each student receives a full weekly hour similar to individual instruction in other performance fields. The course is facilitated with a high level professional piano duo simulating a full symphony orchestra. Students will have the opportunity to conduct the BMSM orchestra several times a year in rehearsals and performances and take part in the preparation process of the school's contemporary music ensemble. All advanced conducting students are required to have wide knowledge and understanding of the symphonic repertoire, communication personality of expressing the music they conduct, good hearing and sufficient conducting technique
