Course description
The Opera class will take the form of a workshop. Participants will practice arias as well as different ensembles. The students will experience studies of various roles from different operas and musical theater. The main themes of the course throughout the following year will be as mentioned in the working plan that will be handed to the students at the beginning of the year. If needed, auditions will take place. The students will work with the course coaches who will examine their preparedness towards working with the lecture. The work with Prof. Rachum will emphasize on musical interpretation, character analysis and dramatization of the role. Sometimes, classes may be run by the coaches alone in order to study and prepare the repertoire. At the end of the year, an exam will take place. The final exam's grade will take the student's participation in the first semester into consideration as well. The course is dedicated to 3rd and 4th year student. M.A. students will be allowed to participate upon special request.
