The reading exercise follows the panoramic introduction course from ancient to late medieval art. During each lesson we will engage with research texts that will complete and expand the discussion of the panoramic introduction, as detailed below.

In addition, we will undertake a critical reading of these texts. The reading exercise comprises seven meetings, at fortnightly intervals.

The purpose of these exercises is to become acquainted with the basic definitions and terminology of each era, and to learn how to read, understand and analyze the research literature.
