Greek art and culture have always been considered as models for the generations that followed. Already the Romans had considered them as Classical and made considerate efforts to acquire original Greek works of art; and when this was not possible – they copied them, quite often to the letter, in order to adorn their palaces, public places and private villas.
In this course we will study the main landmarks of Greek art, from its dawning to the Hellenistic era, in the different media – architecture, sculpture and painting.
