The theme of War is a space loaded with emotion, drenched in ideology, rich with mythology and always controversial. In this seminar we will discuss varied representations of war in modern theater and observe the linguistic, structural, visual and spatial aspects of their design. We will introduce theoretical approaches in the study of political theater and models of persuasion and political propaganda. With these we will analyze the dramatic and the political rhetoric of war representations in a selection of plays and discuss the ideological function such representations fulfill.
