Aristotle’s Poetics is unanimously regarded as the most important critical work of the Antiquity. The course will focus on Aristotle’s main concepts and his theoretical heritage. The main concern will be the relevant stages of the post-Aristotelian criticism from Horace's Ars Poetica to the 20th century's theoretical contributions, while considering continuities and discontinuities and the possibility of perceiving new relationships.
