Course description

During the following classes, each student will be required to submit the fully staged version of the scene, including scenic elements (set, costumes, lighting and sound). Up to three scenes will be presented in one lesson. After the presntation of the scene, the students will hear feedbacks the from both their colleagues and the teacher. Sometimes, when suitable, the student will be asked to do some work with the actors during class.

In between lessons the students will continue their work with the actors, and present the scene again, in one of the following lessons.. During this process of working and re-working, the class will discuss the difference or resemblance of the actual scene, to the initial concept, annalizing the director's work as a dynamic and evolving process.

In the second term, each student will be asked to choose a play from a given list of plays by Brecht's, and present their concept of a full production of the play. Each student will choose a representative scene from the full play, and direct it according to the concept presented. The rest of the work process, in the classroom and between classes, will be identical to the work during the first term. At the end of the term, the scenes will be presented to the teaching staff.
