Course description

In this course we will study and practice how to prepare, edit, and curate written materials and events that accompany theatre performances. We will focus on writing and editing theatre programs and planning pre-performance events. Our main test cases will be the TAU Theatre productions along the 2018-2019 academic year. Participants in the course will plan pre-performance theatre events that related to the plays, playwrights, themes, and productions and will be responsible for writing, editing, and designing the theatre programs. We will study how these practices are carried out in professional theatres in Israel and internationally, and we will study the cultural, literary, and ideological aspects of the productions.
