Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's schizoanalysis emphatically defies Freud's psychoanalysis and suggests a different view on man’s relation to himself, to society, and to the environment. It also offers a remarkable way of reading literature and appreciating works of art, concentrating on experimentation rather than interpretation. In this course we will examine Deleuze and Guattari's main contentions against psychoanalysis and look into the alternative they propose. In addition, we will extract from schizoanalysis practical tools for experiencing works of art, and use them to experiment with film, fine art and literature.
