Chinese Painting and calligraphy: Sublime moments

A historical survey of landscape painting, calligraphically and ink bamboo painting in China between the Tang and the Ming dynasties. The seminar will focus on the basic principle of Chinese aesthetics and its role in Chinese culture and also on the ethical correlation between the painting quality and the moral integrity of the painter.
